I hope that you all had absolutely wonderful holidays! At our house, they were wonderful because all of my children and their spouses and children were here. We played games and laughed and ate in our Reynolds way. It was a great time to test our Hot Cocoa Bombs on everyone and to get their honest opinions on the flavors and ideas that we have. I can always rely on my kids to give me their honest thoughts and to give me new ways to think about things.
Of course, I sent Hot Cocoa Bombs to my extended family as part of their Christmas gifts. They are all so excited about them! (They say the Bombs are the bomb!) My daughter, Alicia, ordered a bunch of bombs from me to give as gifts to her fellow teacher friends. She reported that they were all impressed. Another friend who had tried them ordered a dozen more as gifts. Everyone is always ready to test a new flavor for me and Madalynn, my artist, has so many creative ideas for marketing. Actually, so does my son Jacob, who is not an artist at all. (His owls would probably come out looking like aardvarks, but that is a different story entirely.) But, he has some great ideas for commercials, should we ever get to that point. We couldn't help but be impressed that one of us actually received a Cocoa Bomb as part of a gift from a friend! Well, the verdicts are in from all of our tests and studies. Hot Cocoa Bombs are a hit and we are ready to begin putting them out there for the world to try! I have so many ideas and my legal team (attorney daughter and law-student son) are helping me get my thoughts in order. Lindsey is going to sit down with me to make my business plan and then it won't be long until we will be able to let you in on our recipes and techniques. She is the one who keeps me level headed when I get overly excited. It is so satisfying to have my families support and help in this endeavor. So, now that the New Year has begun, you can look for more progress from us. Thanks to all of our followers so far and I hope 2015 is wonderful for you all! -Helen

It has been a few days since the Ugly Sweat Express Craft Show where we introduced Hot Cocoa Bombs to the world! Here are a few photos. Craft Show Success! This is the table of things I made to sell. Those are owl rice bags, ruffled kitchen towel sets, owl ornaments, bookmarks, and a bunch of other stuff. I sold a few of these things, But, the real success was the Hot Cocoa Bombs! People came back the 2nd day to get more! They loved the flavors! One lady bought 20 of them to give to the teachers at her school. On Saturday morning, it was chilly, so we started out selling Hot Cocoa Bombs with the hot milk so that people could drink it while shopping. We almost sold out of the 160 something bombs we made. It was so exciting! See the other baked goods we sold as well? Also, look at the black and white snowman bombs we made. Those were my husbands idea! My grandkids love them.
So, now where do we go from here? We have lots of ideas and we want to let you guys know how to make these for your families and friends, but figuring out the best way is the thing. Please follow our blog and keep up with us. We need your support and appreciate your comments! My turn to write! This is Helen, the mother of six, and the hands-on laborer in this endeavor. We are so excited to launch our Hot Cocoa Bombs in just a few weeks at the Ugly Sweater Express Craft Show here in Phoenix! If you are in Phoenix, you should all come. There is going to be all kinds of awesome creations there, all displayed in a beautiful home with a lot of wonderful, creative people. You will be able to purchase a Hot Cocoa Bomb to drink while you shop, or you can take some with you for your whole family to enjoy. I like to call myself a frustrated perfectionist because nothing I make ever seems perfect enough for me to present to the public, even though everyone else assures me my creations are wonderful. Because I am like this, I keep tweaking everything up until the last minute. I looked at the pictures that Lindsey posted last week of the bombs, and I just was not happy with the look of the Mint Chocolate flavored ones. So, I made a few changes... What do you think? Those are the Christmas Peppermint Hershey Kisses all chopped up, adding their minty taste to the finished product as well as looking so much cuter, I think.
I am now working on a new idea, suggested by my smart husband! I love the idea and hope that I can make it work as well as it looks in my mind! Check back later in the week (I hope) and find out how they turn out! ![]()
Welcome friends and family! This is the first post on our new site, and we hope you will come back again and again.
I'm really excited to show you something we've been cooking up in our kitchen, and by we I mean my mom, since I never do it. She likes that though. Really. She makes stuff, and I take pictures of it and put it on the internet. Today we wanted to show you our Hot Cocoa Bombs! This was an idea the four of us came up with a few months ago and we have been testing it out ever since. It basically started with something I think about anytime I see anyone making tea. "I wish I could do that with hot chocolate." Haven't you ever thought that? Just stir in your cocoa bag and BAM! Delicious hot cocoa. Anyway, THESE are the solution to that need! Hot Cocoa Bombs! Just drop one in your mug of hot milk and stir! We have been testing out several flavors and prepping them for the craft show we are doing in about a month. Come and test them out, buy a lot, and enjoy the holiday season with some exceptional flavors! See our flavors below!
Hi everyone! Just adding to this post! It has been nearly 2 years since we published our first post. Since then, Hot Cocoa Bombs are still going strong. Our blog has grown and so have we.
I wanted to add alink to the tutorial and our Hot Cocoa Bomb ebook so that you can make your own bombs if you would like. Also, I will add a link to be able to order molds! Thanks for supporting our blog by reading and sharing! |
