I posted this Valentine's day post a few years back, right after giving birth to my oldest daughter, who just turned 5 in December! I can't believe it is already 2023! Yesterday we celebrated our sweet son Henry's birthday.
For some reason, Valentine's Day has been on my mind already, I want to make it extra special this year. Valentine's Day is generally not my thing, but this year I don't want to focus on romantic love (although I am married and Valentine's Day is also my husband's birthday, so there will be some romance) but just the importance of loving others in general. Food is definitely a love language. In this post I listed seven great recipes for you to try out on Valentine's day (or maybe the lead up to it) including some great cocoa bomb ideas! By the way, have you purchased our Hot Cocoa Bomb book from our Etsy shop yet? We actually have two, our original book, and our fall flavor book! Don't get the store bought trash, learn how to make the original and best cocoa bombs around, our Original Hot Cocoa Bombs! Maybe I can convince my mom and sisters to put together a Valentine Cocoa Bomb recipe book in time to have all your favorite Valentine flavors this February! Make sure you check out our video at the link below for how to make some tasty Strawberry Hot Cocoa Bombs. What a delicious, warm pink drink in time for Valentine's Day!
Valentine's day is coming up and you might still be wondering what you should be cooking that night. Whether you're planning on a romantic dinner for two, or something fast and easy for the whole family, we are here to help.
This blog is full of recipes and I've lined up a few of my favorites here for you to choose from. Remember, you can also go to our Etsy shop and buy our bloggilicious baking pages to create your own hard copy cookbook with our recipes! Our valentine's day will be different this year. It is PH's birthday, so of course we'll be celebrating that! But now we have a little one, and family will be in town to celebrate her because on the 18th she will be blessed at our church. (I guess a blessing is sort of like a christening, but there is no water. Is there water at a christening? I think so. a blessing is when the father, or another worthy priesthood holder, holds the baby and gives her a name and then blesses her with whatever Heavenly Father tells him to bless her with. In a nutshell.) Alicia will be here and her son's birthday is the 13th and he'll be turning 3! Our nephew Hunter is also here and he'll be 3 on the 20th! So with all this busy family time, we'll probably want to be using some of these great recipes ourselves! Happy Valentine's Day!

Some years, there just isn't time to make gingerbread cookies. No time to roll them out, decorate them, cut out a house, glue it together and so forth. This, my friends, is one of those years.
But, just because we are having a year like that, doesn't mean we can't enjoy the flavor or gingerbread, with its tangy bite and the delicious, creamy frosting that sets off the warm flavor so well! Gingerbread Loaf is perfect for that craving! It doesn't have too much molasses and the amount of spices is just perfect. The cream cheese frosting has orange zest, or you could use lemon. Citrus pairs so well with gingerbread!
I decided that this year my friends would receive a "flight" of sweet bread loaves from our family. They are quick to make and taste really good. They will be easy to present in a pretty way. The decorations are super easy to do and I can whip up the loaves in a short amount of time. This Gingerbread Loaf was my first choice. I baked my loaf in an 8 mini loaf pan. The recipe give directions for one regular loaf. So, just adjust the temperature as needed.

Funfetti is such a fun and festive choice for any occasion. My son and DIL had Funfetti cupcakes at their wedding reception! So, when I saw a bunch of posts about Funfetti Cookies online recently, and being the sprinkles lover that I am, I knew that I had to give them a try! They will add a festive addition to any Christmas cookie platter.
A couple of years ago, I shared a 3 ingredient cookie collection with you on this post. Cake mix cookies can be a life saver when you are in a hurry and need to take a plate of something somewhere. If you need some inspiration, be sure to check out that post to get some!
What makes these cookies even better is the addition of white chocolate Funfetti Chips! They have the same look as the cake mix, with the sprinkles in the chips! This is a good time of year to look for them in your local grocery store.

Here at 3 Winks Design, we have published some E-Cookbooks that we are pretty proud of. They are a labor of love as we publish recipes that we have developed or that have been long time family favorites.
Back in August, we introduced and published our Jam in 3 Winks book with a bunch of delicious, tried and true recipes for jams and marmalades. It took us awhile, but we have recently published it in Kindle form on Facebook. Amazon makes it possible and very easy to purchase a Kindle version of books to give as gifts to others. Doing so can be a quick and easy last minute gift during a busy holiday season. But, sometimes you want to be able to give a gift wrapped and under the tree. E-books can fit the bill for that as well! Using our books as examples, here are some ideas for gift printing and giving printed e-books. Or, if you would prefer not to print the e-book, you can always gift it electronically and add the extra items to go with it as you announce your gift |
