All views expressed are our own. Madalynn hasn't had a chance to post much lately for a couple reasons: She doesn't have a computer presently and she has been working hard on her career. But, behind the scenes she is still a strong presence here at 3 Winks Design. Today's post is one she had a strong influence on. I remember the days when at Christmas I would just cook the same sugary, fatty, delicious treats all through the season for everyone! But not so anymore! Now there are so many differing diets to think about! Maddy is vegan, a son is on Keto, Lindsey has to stay away from fats. So, I have some offerings for today's Friday Faves that will fit the bill for the vegan and even help with those other 2 a bit as well. (I am not sure about the Keto, but at least for the vegan and the no-fat!) In a past post, Maddy shared the idea of making Oreos look festive. This time I made them with red and white sprinkles. Just be sure to use vegan frosting to edge them before rolling them in the sprinkles. I made mine with vegetable shortening and coconut milk. Oreos are already vegan by themselves. Maddy was so happy to hear that news! Don't they look pretty stacked on that plate like a flower? (Hmmm, that gives me an idea!) When Maddy showed me aquafaba and what it could do, I was amazed. What is aquafaba you ask? It is the liquid from a can of garbanzo beans! You just drain it into your mixing bowl and it whips up like meringue! Add 3/4 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar and there you go. You may also add vanilla if you would like. I put the "aquafaba" in a piping bag and piped them onto parchment paper. Then, you bake them at 250 degrees F. for 2 hours! Look how much one can of garbanzo bean liquid made! So, after you use the aquafaba, what will you do with the left over garbanzo beans? Make humus of course! Here is a large recipe for your Christmas party crowd! See! Vegans and low-fat eaters can easily enjoy Christmas treats with the rest of us! Not only that, all of us omnivores like them, too.

Etsy is such a wonderful place to shop for unique gifts that are often handmade or vintage. It is so great to find things that you can be pretty sure won't be duplicated by anyone else when you gift them.
I can spend hours on that site just checking out all of the awesome things! Unfortunately, it can take hours to find all of the awesome things and during the holidays we don't have hours to spend to find that perfect gift. So, we are here to help you out on today's Friday Faves! These are the best gift ideas we have found this year on Etsy and I think you will find a little something for everyone on your list in this collection. Do you have a favorite shop on Etsy or have you found a perfect gift idea on there that we missed? Be sure to list your faves in the comments!

A couple of weeks ago I went to CA to visit my mother and extended family, including my sisters and brothers. It was a really nice visit. Just before I left, my sister, Donna, came out and gave my sisters and I the necklace pictured above. It represents the sisters in our family. There were 5 of us, only 4 of us are left on earth now, and we feel a strong bond with one another. It was a sweet and touching gift. Then, she told us that she purchased them from a company called Greater Good. This company has donated a portion of their proceeds from the sale of their products to various charities in order to benefit the world and to make it a better place. Knowing that made this gift even sweeter. Greater Good gives to charities that help people, animals and the planet. Since 1999 they have donated over 35 million dollars to these causes. This is not an affiliate link, it is just that I love their desire to make the world a better place, and the prices are very affordable.
Not only does this company have sweet jewelry, but they also have other awesome items such as home decor items, apparel, and look at these sweet mugs!
This company gave me the idea to talk about some other companies who donate a portion of their profits to charitable causes. At this time of year when we are gift buying for people who often already have what they want or need and who can be difficult to buy for, these gifts can be a bonus to share with them about how their gift also gave to someone else. So, this is this week's Friday Faves, Gifts that give twice!
Origami Owl-This company is based in Arizona and sells beautiful jewelry that you customize yourself. One of the categories of charms and jewels that they sell is called Force For Good. From this site they have special products that when purchased, a portion of the proceeds go to help military families, suicide prevention and individuals.
Hand in Hand Soap-You can purchase these products at Target! This company has a buy a bar give a bar policy. When the founders of this company found out that 45% of the water related illness deaths in children around the world could have been prevented by simple handwashing, they decided to come up with a product to save lives. Not only do they sell bars of soap, but they have body scrubs and other products as well.
Out of Print-This site is the perfect place to find a gift for the avid readers in your life. When you purchase from them, they support literacy programs and donate books around the world. They have a Harry Potter department with amazing shirts and socks, Little Golden Books, and all kinds of products categorized by title, author or genre. Here are a few of my favorites:
I know that there are other companies that do similar programs that help the world. Such as Tom's shoes who donate shoes to those in need when you buy a pair. Some companies run campaigns that last a certain amount of time, such as Colorstreet who have at times had special programs for charities such as Autism Awareness and Breast Cancer Awareness.

Thank you for your support You may not have realized this, but even buttons get a day! And that day is today, November 16th. I'm glad buttons have a day because I have always loved them. From the time I played with them in my mother's big, musty smelling treasure chest of a button box until today, there is something so special about buttons. They are so cute, except in the book/movie Coraline, of course, when they are creepy. I have my own button box now, but it isn't as brilliant as my mom's was. But, when I do a project, it is often one of the places I turn to first. So, today for Friday Faves, I thought I would show you a few projects that are button-fabulous! You could a dd a bow to the wreath or use different shaped buttons. I just used what I have at home. I love displaying little things like this on my bookshelves during the holidays. Here are some other things that we would like to try! If you don't have a big stash of buttons, you can order them online here or here! Or, go to Walmart or any fabric store. You can find serving trays at Dollar Tree here. I am having so much fun playing with buttons, I can't stop, so you may be seeing more button projects form me, Ha Ha! I did do a Spring Button Project here a while back. And, if you like the idea of little framed pieces on your bookshelves, look at these!
